In this life, breakdowns are inevitable. For sure, we will face many trials and challenges. This is a reality of life. In fact, Jesus made it quite plain when He said, “In this world you will have trouble.”
However, the important thing is to accept these trials and challenges, and move on by turning them into something that we can learn from and benefit from. We can’t stay in these sad and negative moments forever.
These temporary breakdowns are not the end of the story. Most people would cry and grieve when negative things happen to them. Nevertheless, the key is not to linger in those negative emotions. We have to understand that tragedy, trauma, and shock –if we allow them to –can actually be the greatest of all catalysts (Attwood and Bartmann, n.d.).
Now I hear the word of the Lord saying that this is going to be the season that I am turning your sadness into gladness saith the Lord. For the Lord will cause you to come into a place of breakthrough, and you’re going to see that those days of sadness and negative moments are now over saith the Lord. They were known as temporary breakdowns and not the end of the story. I am bringing you to an understanding of how to eliminate those things that are unnecessary in your life, and I am bringing you into peace of mind saith the Lord.
While it is true that you may not have control over the things that will happen in your life you do have control over how you will respond to every event that comes to your life. This is where you begin to see my power work through you, and you begin to to see miracles happen in a most unusual way saith the Lord. Now I am awakening you to some new things saith the Lord, and I begin to ask you a question. What breakdowns have you encountered in the past that you thought was too hard for me to solve? What happened saith the Lord? How did you deal with them? For as I have shown up in the past, I am showing up again in your life saith the Lord. For often times you have discovered I have not shown up in your plans that I have shown up in the interruptions of your life. What does it mean to turn breakdowns into breakthroughs now? As you hold this question in your mind, the answer will show up shortly in your experience saith the Lord.
When we encounter obstacles, we can respond in either of two ways. We can view that setback as something irresolvable, and consequently, be overcome by hopelessness and resignation. Or we can also view it as the gift that we will be able to turn the tide and generate an entirely new future for us. We need to fully realize that we have the capacity to turn any breakdown into a breakthrough (Attwood and Bartmann, n.d.).
- It must be clear to us that we have full control of our lives. While it is true that we may not be able to have control over the things that will happen in our lives, we do have control over how we will respond to such events.
- We have to stop with the woe-is-me mentality when bad things start to happen (Attwood and Bartmann, n.d.). If we want to live our lives on the courts rather than in the stands, we have to be utterly convinced that there will always be something that we can do about our situation.
- The truth is this: if we only decide to do so, we will be able to see enlightened moments in the midst of dark moments. And it is with these enlightened moments that we will feel strong and fully able to take control of our lives, and do something positive with every negative experience (Attwood and Bartmann, n.d.). The Bible tells us to consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds, because the testing of our faith produces perseverance. We must let perseverance finish its work so that we may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
